Project's Timeline.
The work packages bridged the knowledge gaps about the market for photovoltaic modules, charge controllers, and batteries in Nigeria through WP 1 and WP 2, introduced internationally verified new standards for their management in WP 3, supported the establishment of evidence-based stakeholder communication and awareness-raising about the standardisation and regulation of Solar PV components through WP 4, and to provide institutional support through policy for battery end-of-life management in WP 5.
Green Finance with EcoMicro: Grenada

Marketing campaign of the Grenada Development Bank’s EcoMicro program.
This year, MEI continued its partnership with Inter American Development Bank(IDB) and the Grenada Development Bank(GDB) for the implementation of the EcoMicro program in Grenada. The EcoMicro Program, a Technical Assistance facility established to introduce Green Finance for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), including small-scale farmers, and low-income households in Latin America and the Caribbeans aims to facilitate access to finance as a means to increase access to renewable energy and energy-efficient appliances as well as climate-smart solutions; thereby facilitating climate change mitigation and adaptation.
The EcoMicro Program in Grenada is progressing to implementation, as GDB is already marketing the new financial products developed through it on their Official Facebook Page and Website. MEI is also working on transferring the experience and learnings from Grenada to other countries in the Caribbean and beyond in the next few years.
