Global access to the internet has significantly increased in the last decade. The arrival of mobile devices and faster internet networks have connected the world, and resulted in the opportunity to collect, transmit and process large amounts of data. As a result, Digital solutions are being developed and integrated into many areas, including energy access, climate change mitigation and adaptation and development finance. 

 

MEC has launched its Digitalization Competence Centre (DCC) to leverage with the opportunities and challenges this situation entails, building up the company’s digital skills by developing and optimizing user-friendly solutions that adapt to the needs of MEI’s clients and project stakeholders, thus effectively incorporating these solutions into the company’s catalogue of products and services. DCC will consolidate MEI’s expertise in the areas of PAYGo and mobile money; smart metering and smart networks and digital tool development.
